Today we will just be learning how to draw the first part of this fairy scene: the Mushroom!

All you need for this drawing is a soft pencil and a blending stump.

I do plan on using watercolors to add some colors at the end so if you'd like to follow me through that process as well then you'll definitely want to make sure you're working on some type of watercolor paper as well.

Coldpress watercolor paper is pretty textured and great for using lots of water! That is fine to use for this.

Hotpress watercolor paper is smooth like Bristol paper and is better for smooth drawings and light watercolor applications.

I am working on Hotpress watercolor paper.

If you want to color your fairy scene in using a different art supply (like colors pencils, pastels, markers) then go for it!! Just remember that paper is AS important as your art supply so definitely make sure you're working on the right one for you!
