Did you know you can paint with wax? Crazy, right?! And people have been using it as their go-to medium for over 500 years! And while I know some of you are SUPER anxious about trying out Encaustics for the first time I can assure you that it is safe, easy, fast and a BLAST! All you really need to get started is a heat gun, a crockpot and some Encaustic Medium which is available in fine art stores and online. You can collage, paint, embed, scrape and artfully layer with it, just like with other mediums. Think of it as Gel Medium…on steroids! But let’s start off nice and slow and not get ahead of ourselves. No worries, this project is as delightful as it is simple! Work with me, step-by-step!
